DTE 2020-2021 information and registration
Hello parents and students! I hope you are all healthy and making music to share the love! With the current situation of Covid-19 we have made the decision to have all classes remote this year. We care very much about all of you, and our teachers, and want ALL of us to stay healthy and safe. All classes will take place via Zoom.
We have made some adjustments to Saturday’s DTE schedule that will continue to help your child grow, but not be staring at a screen for multiple hours.
All classes will be from 9:30-10:30.
This will be your Repertoire Class with key elements of your musicianship class included. There will be a recitals at 10:40 on these dates:
Sept 26th
Nov 7th
Jan 30th
Mar 13th
Apr 24th
I will have more information to sign up for these recitals soon!
We are SUPER happy to announce SPECIALITY ENRICHMENT classes that will happen 4 times throughout the year! This is included in your tuition! And will take place during the normal 9:30-10:30 time.
The date are:
Oct 17th
Nov 14th

Apr 10th
Mira Larson from Utah will be teaching Dalcroze for students ages 4-7
**In the Dalcroze class, the instructor uses movement, rhythm games, gesture, and songs as keys for teaching musical concepts and nurturing musical sensitivity. Using active listening and a spirit of play, Dalcroze creates a joyful space for accelerated musical learning on a deep level. Parent participation is requested.** These classes are SUPER FUN and high energy!
Danette Schuh from Texas will be teaching Fiddling fun - Texas Style! for students 8-12
**Flex your fiddling fingers and tap your twinkling toes to some Texas-style Western Swing tunes! We will start simple and layer the more advanced techniques as we go along, so there will be something accessible and something challenging for everyone. Both violinists and cellists will have the opportunity to learn the melody AND a harmony or ‘backup’ part so that we can all play
together as an ensemble, or maybe you will start your own band!**
We are excited to continue to enrich student’s growth through these different options this year! I understand that a lot is different right now, but we can follow in the footsteps of Dr. Suzuki’s
original mission to help children in times of crisis and uncertainty. We can develop kind hearts. We can share music. We can create happiness.
